Muses is a 'kids for kids' writing group facilitated by writer-teacher-author, Sheala Dawn Henke.
Our Story... It all began with the seed of an idea and a group who share a passion for reading and writing. The seed that sprouted over seven years ago has grown after Mrs. Henke and the original Muses embarked on a journey to publish her first book in a collaborative project. The group has since grown and evolved into a brilliant community of young aspiring writers and precocious readers with a shared mission to put words to work. We are always open to more members, so please contact Sheala Henke for details about our next meeting!
We aim to meet twice a month on alternating Thursdays in Mrs. Henke's classroom after school to learn new techniques to improve our story telling, pitch our ideas, and our Literary Superheroes. We also host opportunities to partner/mentor other writers and critique one another's work in a safe and secure environment of risk- taking and open-minded peers. Recently, we've committed to more outreach with authors of children's book with our 2018-19 Fall/Winter line up of author interviews, live via Skype! Please contact Mrs. Henke if you are an agent or author of children's books and are interested in this unique opportunity.
As future communicators and storytellers we always have amazing worlds and ideas we want to share with the world, but as we try to write it all down, we get lost with how to help others see it as we do! Writing can be complicated, but when you have a place to share and learn from a community of young writers like us, it’s a lot easier!
If you’re looking for a place to share your words or ideas, look no further than where the Muses Unite and bring your words to the world!
